L ong Island Immigrant Students Advocates (LIISA) is a non for profit organization founded in 2010 whose goal is to support immigrant students obtain a higher education by providing resources, promoting youth leadership development, advocating for equal education system and pro immigrant students legislations. Our mission is to promote education, one of the most fundamental values for a student's personal development and provide students resources within LIISA and other organizations to help them achieve their career goals.LIISA’s objective is to help provide an equal education opportunity to every student to provide a greater contribution to our economy. Our vision is to work for higher education for all immigrant students regardless of immigration status, provide scholarships funds and other programs to increase the rate of immigrant students graduating with a professional degree. | LIISA’S OBJECTIVES: · Promoting education to immigrant students as the most important value for their personal development · Increase the level of immigrant students’ graduating from high school and attending college · Advocate for equal education for all immigrant students regardless of immigration status · Raise funds to provide scholarships for immigrant students · Provide youth leadership development programs |
